QUARZO is a structural primer designed to increase and even the adhesion of poorly absorbent, smooth, high-density substrates prior to rendering with lime-cement and gypsum-lime mortars. QUARZO is especially recommended for smooth concretes as well as prefabricated concrete surfaces. It is also used as a primer in tile installation systems. Veneto QUARZO adheres very well to the surface. Penetrates exposed concrete very well to provide a good ground for other application materials. As it is water-based, it is harmless to human health and the environment.

Additional Features

Application Instructions

The substrate to which Veneto Quarzo is applied must be solid, dry, and dust off the application surface; level the surface defects, if any.  Prior to use, the product must be previously stirred and homogenized thoroughly.

Drying Time

Veneto Quarzo is applied undiluted with a brush or a longhair roller in one coat. Machine application with the appropriate equipment is possible. The required drying time until the render is applied is min: 4h. The air and substrate temperatures during installation should be in the range from +5 ºC to +30 ºC. Do not work under direct sunlight, rain, or strong wind. High humidity and low temperatures can significantly extend the drying time.

Theoritical Consumption

Allow 5-6h hours at touch and 24h for complete dry at 23°C environment conditions.

Surface Preparation

The consumption depends on the surface. In a standard application, it would be as follows:

  • 1 lt covers 5,6– 11,1 m² of surface,
  • 1 kg covers 3,2– 6,8 m2 of surface,
  • The paint consumption for 1 m2 area is 80 -170 ml and 140- 320 gr.
